Matthew's in Love!

With Gwen Stefani!! I guess he's got good taste, but isn't is a little early for me to be worried about my kid's first crush? As soon as the "Sweet Escape" video comes on, Matthew stops what he is doing and is glued to the TV. Not even Indy can tear his eyes from this woman (or maybe it's her dancers!)

Matthew's 18 months old! I can no longer get away with telling his age in months. That's right: now I have to tell people he's ALMOST TWO!!! On top of that, he moved up to the Jr. Toddlers in Daycare. Scheduled naps, no soothers, unacceptable behaviour is no longer joked about, it's reprimanded. I guess I knew the day would come when shoving other kids was no longer about cause and effect, but I didn't think it would come so soon.

We were away this weekend visiting friends and neglected to bring the stroller. Instead, we brought the plastic sled. Matthew was, um, hesitant at first. We (I) tried to put him in the plastic enclosure (a wind breaker, I guess) and he screamed his head off. You know how I know I'll make Mom Of The Year? I could NOT stop laughing. After I got a hold of myself, we decided to forego the windbreaker and just pull him along. He liked it after a while, and the noisy ride even put him to sleep!

We had a great weekend, even though it's pretty obvious we're getting old. We watched Criss Angel Midfreak and all we could say was "Ew. That guys's a freak. Why do kids watch this crap?" A few years ago, we may have said "Cool. Let's dare (insert the freak of your choice here) to do that for $2."
