So today's the big day. Our little baby is all of a sudden 1. Where did the year go? Apparently Matthew ate it!We had a birthday party for Matthew on Saturday and it went really well...for the adults. Poor little Matthew woke up from a nap with a fever (39.5C or 104F) so he wasn't himself for the festivities. He fell asleep at about 5:30, so we couldn't even get that picture every parent of a 1 year old has, the picture of their child smearing cake and icing all over themselves. We did wake him up to administer more Tylenol and decided that was as good an opportunity as any to sing Happy Birthday to him. As you can tell by the pictures, he was less than impressed.
Today we got a better one; more like the Matthew we know and love. I tried all day to get a better 1year photo, but he would have nothing of it. As a result, if you're looking for anything other than the chocolate cake goatee you'll have to wait for the next post.
So that brings me to the end of this post and, I guess, to the end of year one. I can't wait to post on absolutely everything he does so you'll have lots to read. Please leave me comments so that I feel like you're still watching his every move!
